Job Description:

The Human Resources Specialist provides essential support in various HR areas including employee relations, leave administration, performance improvement, and compliance with employment laws. This role involves guiding and advising managers and employees on HR policies, conducting workplace investigations, and collaborating with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to ensure consistent application of policies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Respond to employee inquiries, clarifying and interpreting HR policies.
  • Provide internal employee relations assistance for escalated cases.
  • Conduct sensitive and complex workplace investigations related to allegations of misconduct.
  • Ensure fair application of company policies and compliance with employment laws.
  • Gather facts and maintain documentation to resolve issues.
  • Adjudicate escalated background screening results for pre-employment candidates.
  • Assist in employee engagement and recognition activities.
  • Manage the Employee Relief Fund.
  • Support disciplinary actions and termination processes.
  • Liaise with the Legal team on cases with potential legal implications.
  • Handle leave cases and provide backup for the Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist.
  • Review and recommend updates to HR policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications: Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience and military service considered).
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, including conducting internal investigations and advising on progressive discipline.
