Seeking an experienced Management Analyst to support the Department of Energy (DOE) / National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The Management Analyst will provide administrative and managerial support to senior management throughout the Office of Management and Budget, Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, and the Office of Public Affairs. This is a full-time position. The Management Analyst will have demonstrated experience independently supporting a dynamic Public Affairs Office, carrying out duties and providing authoritative advice to management, staff and leadership on projects in support of the mission. The successful candidate should be comfortable engaging with media outlets and reporters, as well as managing multiple communications, databases, and public-facing social media accounts in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

Provide daily management support for senior management in each office. Serve as a primary public affairs liaison to assigned programs and attend weekly meetings to integrate public affairs into strategic planning efforts. Provide public affairs advice and recommendations to senior leadership on program activities, milestones, and issues. Develop communication plans, themes, messages, and talking points on significant program activities, milestones, and issues. Prepare, edit, and distribute written products and other public affairs content. Develop responses to media queries that are properly coordinated and cleared through appropriate offices and personnel. Assist the Public Affairs team in pitching stories to reporters and facilitate media interviews and press conferences. Assist in the maintenance of a database of media relations activities, media contact lists, news clips, speaking engagements and other public affairs activities. Assist in the development of videos and informational graphics. Schedule, post, and monitor activities on NNSA’s social media platforms. Take photos and video of program activities and official ceremonies. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen with a current Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance and ability to obtain SCI access. May require the periodic successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination. BS or BA degree from an accredited university with 5+ years of experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant fields such as business administration or program management with additional studies in national security, nuclear security, or emergency management. Demonstrated writing and editing skills in the creation of documents, plans, procedures, and proposals. Willingness to work directly with clients in an environment that changes rapidly, and requires occasional long hours. Must be an independent, self-starter with excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task and be comfortable working with a team of technical experts in varying fields of scientific and engineering disciplines. Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced word processing using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances may be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites; the candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment. Must be willing to work after-hours, extended shifts and on weekends when required during emergency responses and exercises. Ability to execute short-notice travel may be required. Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

5-8 years of demonstrated public affairs experience. 5-8 years of experience working in a front-office or office management position.
