Plans, designs, and optimizes various welding and assembly processes. Qualifications: •Bachelor's Degree in welding engineering or related field •5 years' experience in the design and manufacturing of welding and assembly cells, preferably for the automotive industry•Welding, Welding Inspector and/or Welding Engineer certification•Strong understanding of welding, assembly, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC programming•Strong understanding of Quality Assurance (Control Plans, PFMEAs, Flow Diagrams, GD&T / Print Reading, SPC, APQP, etc.) including machine FMEA's•Individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interface with the customers and suppliers of equipmentResponsibilities: •Follow all the Anchor Principles and Guidelines, as well as Anchor policies and procedures•Direct the design process, installation and complete tryout and startup of the automation/welding/assembly equipment •Define new welding and automation processes as needed, develop automation concepts, develop fixture designs, prepare specification for required equipment, obtain competitive price quotations, prepare purchase justification, purchase equipment, complete work cell layouts, and install and debug process•Work with Project Engineers and program managers on all new projects that require automation equipment•Maintain and keep current the machine building standards for the company•Develop automation concepts, fixturing, and equipment specifications•Aid in the development of project budgets.
