Review existing and planned generator cost and performance parameters Evaluate applicable transmission network characteristics Review and incorporate load forecasts Review applicable energy and fuel contracts Review RTO/ISO interconnection queue data

Model development and benchmarking:

Develop and run production cost models in PLEXOS and PROMOD Verify model outputs against historical system data

Scenario modeling and analysis:

Evaluate various scenarios of generation and energy storage portfolios Perform sensitivity analyses Perform NPV and financial analysis

Perform other electric system planning studies Qualifications

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, or similar field. Candidates with other type of Bachelor’s degree may be considered if experience/qualifications are strong. In order to qualify, it is important that you have 5+ years of experience in the energy industry, including one or more of the following: 3+ years of experience in production cost modeling with PLEXOS and/or PROMOD Analytical and modeling experience in structured power markets in the U.S. (e.g. PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, ERCOT, SPP) Knowledge of various power generation types and their capital costs, operating costs, performance characteristics, and dispatch profiles Basic knowledge of PPAs and U.S. power markets – energy, capacity, and ancillary services Experience in IRP development and associated modeling is a plus. Experience in forward-looking transmission congestion and generation curtailment analysis is a plus. Also very important are: Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Strong proficiency in Excel. Experience in languages such as VBA, Python, or similar is a plus. Experience in writing technical reports and proposals.
