Key Responsibilities for the Chief Financial Investment Officer:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

Develop and implement financial strategies to support the mission and long-term goals.

Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Investment Management:

Manage and optimize their investment portfolio to ensure alignment with their values and financial objectives.

Conduct thorough financial analysis and risk assessments to inform investment decisions.

Develop and implement investment policies and procedures.

Global Accounting and Financial Management:

Oversee global accounting operations, including compliance with international accounting standards and regulations.

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all regions where they operate.

Lead initiatives to enhance financial systems, processes, and controls.

Leadership and Team Development:

Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Mentor and develop staff to build a high-performing finance team.

Promote a shared vision of financial stewardship and transparency within the organization.

Nonprofit Financial Expertise:

Leverage extensive experience in nonprofit financial management to support grant acquisition, donor relations, and program funding.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and donor requirements.

Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, audits, and tax filings.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and regulatory bodies, to enhance financial sustainability and accountability.

Represent the organization in financial and investment discussions with external partners and networks.

Qualifications for the Chief Financial Investment Officer:

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.

Willingess and ability to travel internationally throughout the year.

Several years of progressive financial management experience, including senior leadership experience.

Proven experience in nonprofit financial management, including global accounting practices.

Demonstrated success in managing investment portfolios and making strategic financial decisions.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
