Our client in the wine industry is looking to bring on a full time Senior Accountant. This person will prepare and post complex JEs, perform monthly reconciliations of complex bank accounts, review GL, review fixed asset activities, assist in annual audits, and more.

This person would ideally sit onsite at their St. Helena office. But, there is flexibility to work from their Sonoma or Santa Rose office if preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews fixed asset activity, including construction in progress, additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Reviews the general ledger to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate posting.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements, making adjustments and closing entries.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial reports including a balance sheet, a statement of income, a statement of cash flows
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.
  • Perform monthly fluctuation analysis for corporate budget
  • Support financial statement variance analysis
  • Work cross-functionally with business functions to ensure timely identification of accounting and financial matters
  • Assists in annual reviews and audits.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in business, finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience
  • CPA license a plus
  • Experience in the retail, wine, or consumer goods industry a plus
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Navision or Business Central.
  • Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
