Position Overview:

In this pivotal role as a Senior Financial Accountant within the wine sector, you will be part of a leading organization dedicated to producing high-quality wines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for finance and accounting, particularly in the beverage industry. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires onsite engagement.

The successful applicant will oversee financial analysis, cost accounting, general ledger management, insurance renewals, production costs, and compliance with federal and state excise tax regulations across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be integral to our financial operations.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising the accounting functions of various entities, focusing on their control systems, transaction processing, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Managing all facets of the general ledger, including the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analyses to identify key business challenges, performance metrics, and decision-making factors.
  • Overseeing insurance renewals and managing compliance with federal and state excise tax obligations.
  • Evaluating production costs and pinpointing opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Utilizing NetSuite software for effective financial management and operations.
  • Establishing and maintaining financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Forecasting and planning future financial initiatives for the organization.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the wine industry.
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple entities and performing complex financial analyses.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting and general ledger management.
  • Experience with insurance renewals and compliance with federal and state excise tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite software or equivalent financial management systems.
  • Strong forecasting and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
