Position Overview: As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a vital role in our financial operations within the wine industry. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong passion for accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting functions of various entities, ensuring effective control systems and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify key business issues and performance indicators.
- Handle insurance renewals and manage federal and state excise tax obligations.
- Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Utilize NetSuite software for comprehensive financial management.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Forecast and plan future financial activities for the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the wine industry.
- Extensive experience managing multiple entities and conducting complex financial analyses.
- Proficiency in cost accounting and general ledger management.
- Experience with insurance renewals and excise tax management.
- Familiarity with NetSuite software or equivalent financial management tools.
- Strong forecasting and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent analytical skills and thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
