Summary of Responsibilities:

The human resources specialist is responsible for supporting the companys human resources functions regarding onboarding, background screening, compliance auditing, and other projects as assigned. This role communicates with all associates at varying levels within the organization, on a variety of human resources-related issues while upholding standard company confidentiality practices.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:

Manage the onboarding process for new associates, working in conjunction with the hiring manager

Review and interpret candidate background check results to ensure Avenue5 hiring standards are met

Ensure legal compliance with Form I-9 and other employment authorization documents

Administer the E-Verify work authorization

Run daily, weekly, and monthly audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of data

Respond to associate inquiries as related to various human resource functions

Assist with the maintenance of job boards and applicant tracking system as needed

Review and approve job requisitions for accuracy and compliance

Assist with benefits administration and communications as needed

Provide clerical and administrative support for leadership, such as handling heavy scanning/copying/mailing projects and creating and maintaining paper and electronic files

Work closely with the payroll team to ensure data integrity before biweekly payroll close

Comply with all company policies, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws

Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

High school diploma is required. Bachelors degree is preferred

One to three years of property management experience is preferred

One to three years of human resources experience is preferred

Skills and Requirements:

Very strong organization and time-management skills

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management effectively and sensitively

Intermediate level knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Sensitivity to confidential matters is required

Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency

Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English

Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others

Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people

Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned

Scheduling:

Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays

Environment:

Exposure to an environment typically found in an office building

Physical Requirements:
