HR Business Partner
to join our
HR team
JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will be the hands-on Generalist in Human Resources related operations to include staffing, training, associate relations and strategic areas including associate engagement, talent development, and succession planning. You will assure high performance levels of all associates and lower turnover by working with people managers to keep associates informed of their own performance through performance reviews, counseling and disciplinary action when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associate Relations - utilize independent judgment to provide guidance to Corporate, DC and Store Operations management, as it relates to the handling of associate relations issues, by conducting confidential internal investigations including complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other issues in a professional and timely manner. The Associate Relations Manager will make recommendations to resolve issues in accordance with applicable laws and Company policies, practices, and procedures.
LOA Administration - review and administer leave of absence requests in compliance with company policy, FMLA, ADA and applicable state laws.
Maintaining a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and employment legislation and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Resolve payroll issues and concerns in partnership with the Payroll Department, including strategies to eliminate recurring Payroll issues and concerns.
Talent Acquisition - In addition to being a partner with the Recruiting Team, you will coach and train people managers on the soft skills that support effective full-cycle recruiting, including the use of turnover reports and other data.
Collaborate with our internal Risk Management Administrator for handling and resolving workers’ compensation claims.
Liaison with outside vendor for handling unemployment claims.
Providing training on HR topics and employment laws.
Assisting in investigating and responding to EEOC, DOL and OSHA complaints.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee relations, as an HR Generalist, for a multi-site company.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Strong working knowledge of employment law.
Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Effective listening skills.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse employee population.
