The Director of Human Resources will work closely with the CFO to design, develop, and implement effective people strategies and tactics to support and transform the business. The individual in this role will manage all aspects of the department, including employee relations, employee engagement, learning and development, unemployment, leave administration, and recruiting as well as acquisition integration. The ideal candidate will have progressive experience in human resources and experience managing a team and creating/implementing HR policies and procedures. The Director of Human Resources will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep a consistent pulse on emerging HR issues by maintaining consistent interaction with managers and team members in all markets.
  • Assist in internal employee questions, concerns, and investigations.
  • Act as a strategic business partner with all leadership. Assist with coaching and counseling issues such as employment policies, procedures and recruitment needed.
  • Assist in recruiting for job openings, writing job offers, and new hire onboarding.
  • Assist in maintaining an updated employee handbook and assist in the creation of editing HR policies.
  • Conduct regional wage surveys when needed.
  • Assist in overseeing insurance benefits and payroll and the annual open enrollment process.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment law.
  • Process all unemployment claims and attend all unemployment hearings as needed. Prepare documents and all paperwork required for the claims process.
  • Process and track all workers compensation claims.
  • Work with management team to build OSHA Training, leadership training, and other relevant HR training as needed.
  • Provide integration support and alignment for new acquisitions while ensuring seamless transition of benefit policies and HRIS during the acquisition.
  • Supervise payroll processing function to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll activities, including timekeeping, wage calculations and benefit deductions.
  • Lead strategic planning and optimization of HRIS to ensure alignment with organizational goals and implementations.
  • Develop KPIs and monitor service level agreements with key stakeholders. Ensures maintenance of all HR data; ensures integrity and accuracy of database through regular system audits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development.
  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience in successfully leading and mentoring staff on human resources policies, procedures, processes, laws and regulations.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, knowledge management, and records management tools.
  • Ability to perform extensive data analysis, troubleshooting and creative problem resolution, including diagnostics and streamlining.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface with all levels of the organization, influence decision makers and set and manage expectations.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations that influence HR.
  • Knowledge of HR functions such as compensation, benefits, retirement plans (401k), payroll and HRIS.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize demands and solve problems creatively. - Demonstrated project management skills
  • Must be detail oriented and quality focused.
  • Must be results Oriented with demonstrated follow-through with simultaneous and sometimes conflicting goals.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
