While this position will be based remotely, the Operations Director will be required to attend in-person, monthly Board meetings in Ann Arbor every fourth Thursday from 9-10:30AM. The Operations Director (OD) will be a part of the management team and focus on administrative activities related to strategy, trail projects, finance, and community engagement. Working with the Treeline Conservancy (TLC) Board, and Development Director, the OD will help set goals for organization management and work systematically to meet them.It will be important to align the Operations Director, Development Director, and Board around a common strategy and identify the individual's capabilities and leadership roles that collectively move TLC forward. Core Responsibilities Co-lead efforts to realize the mission and vision of the organization, along with the Board and the Development Director so that the TLC can work with other partners, including the City of Ann Arbor, to design, build, operate, and maintain the Treeline Trail Provide day-to-day management of TLC activities and provide reports to partners and stakeholders Maintain working knowledge of other trail projects and trends Manage TLC budget, working alongside the Board Treasurer, to ensure the organization's financial viability and to responsibly steward organization resources to meet current project plans and projected long-term needs Cultivate relationships with local media and influencers and provide oversight for TLC’s social media presence Coordinate community presence of TLC by scheduling and deploying Board and Staff to make public presentations and attend relevant events, conferences, and other gatherings Plan special events designed to inform partners of TLC’s status and progress Staff meetings of the full Board and of Board committees Maintain the organization's physical and digital infrastructure, equipment, and assets Management of marketing and communications channels Key Credentials and Personal Qualities Experience with project management, engineering, nonprofit management, business administration, event execution, or a field related to the Treeline Conservancy’s vision, mission and goals Commitment to results; “can-do" mindset with emphasis on accountability Strong organization skills and communication skills Experience in monitoring financial activity, conducting budget reviews for non-profit organizations. Managing procurement and resource allocation The expected annual compensation and the benefits package for this part-time position will be commensurate with the responsibilities of this role and the expertise and experience of candidates. Work schedule is flexible. As TLC grows and evolves and as funds permit, TLC may hire and delegate some of the above responsibilities to a full-time executive director or other roles.
