. This position will report to the ORSP Assistant Director, Operations and Administration. Under general direction, the Business Operations Support Team member will provide dynamic support for daily operations, including Communications, Training, Project Management, and Business Intelligence. This role requires exercising considerable discretion and independent judgment, and the ability to analyze complex information requests and determine intricate trends. The ideal candidate will have a high school education or equivalent and more than four years of relevant experience. Communication and Marketing Coordination Website Content Management Email Campaign Development Copywriting and drafting of reference documents Basic Design Support Assistance with intra-office communication (newsletters, forms, surveys, etc.) and record keeping/maintenance Editing, proofreading, and quality analysis Training Support Proofreading training materials Basic design support Administration On site event logistics (monthly) Scheduling/calendar management in Google Calendar, meeting polls. etc. Assistance with hiring processes, including scheduling meetings and interviews, preparing documents, professional and efficient communication with the leadership team, Hiring Managers, committee members, and candidates Facilities management support Assist with management and organization of Google Drive and internal office resources Update email groups and membership in MCommunity, intra-office lists and as needed elsewhere Event Planning: Work with teammates to coordinate logistics for internal and external events, such as large group meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars. This includes venue selection, catering arrangements, materials preparation, and attendee management. Presentation and Slide Deck Drafting: Assist in creating professional presentations and slide decks for internal and external use. Ensure materials are well-organized, visually appealing, and aligned with organizational standards. Confidentiality: Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information and documents. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of project support experience and education At least two years of experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a corporate or academic environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with individuals at all levels. Proficient skill in writing grammatically correct, clear, and concise business correspondence Ability to proofread business correspondence with a high degree of accuracy. Excellent working knowledge of computers, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite (Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) and other relevant software applications. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities. Ability to adapt to changing priorities Familiarity with U-M policies and procedures related to research administration (including, but not limited to, accounting, purchasing, personnel, and regulatory compliance).
