The Director of Development serves in a key leadership role and is an active participant in Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County’s strategic planning and decision-making process. In partnership with the President and CEO, this position is responsible for the implementation, execution, and oversight of all fundraising, marketing, and development activities. In addition to maintaining and enhancing existing donor relationships, the Director works closely with the President and CEO to cultivate and forge relationships with existing and new donors, local Parishes, community partners, and other key stakeholders to increase CSSW’s visibility and resources as an area leader in high quality, mission-oriented human services.
Relevant education or credentials strongly preferred in Philanthropy, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or similar field.
Experience includes but is not limited to:
- Minimum ten years of successful philanthropy and community relations with significant experience in donor relationships, communications, community relations, grant writing, securing major gifts, and planned giving, preferably in a philanthropy or human service organization.
- Strong verbal and written business communication and marketing skills, as well as task management and project organizational skills.
- Robust personal and professional network in the Washtenaw County area.
- Strong technological skills, especially internet related platforms, including donor database proficiency and social media platforms.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
Competitive pay dependent upon qualifications and experience. Total compensation includes a comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off with paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
