Plan, organize, and execute memorable community-wide events. Manage and secure sponsors for community events and programming. This role requires strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills with a creative mindset to produce successful events. Event Planning and Execution: Plan, organize and execute memorable community-wide events focused on creating an enhanced experience for residents and the extended community. Assist with securing event operational needs including communication, equipment, event-rental needs and electrical requirements. Manage community events from idea through execution, helping to ensure all deadlines are met. Develop strategic plans to broadcast events and target appropriate audiences. Oversee event site management, including but not limited to production staff, security, inspectors, guest assistance, sponsors and vendors. Manage and maintain new and existing vendor relationships for all City events. Oversees vendor compliance, vendor communication, and vendor development. Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines. Recommend, develop and implement effective plans for generating event revenue within approved plans. Sponsorship Management: Secure annual and event sponsorships to meet the needs of the City and our programming requirements. Collaborate with cornerstone departments and cross-functional teams to support sponsorship sales efforts to achieve and exceed projections and track commitment deadlines for new and existing partners. Maintain current knowledge of the sponsorship industry landscape, competitive research, market trends and key category activity across government, music, sports and entertainment. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors, leveraging networking opportunities and industry connections. Develop sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to the needs and objectives of potential sponsors and the City. Negotiate sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutually-beneficial terms and deliverables. Coordinate sponsor deliverables, including logo placement, advertising opportunities and event brand visibility. Provide post-event reports and analysis to key City staff and sponsors, demonstrating the value and impact of their investment. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, including but not limited to communication, marketing, administration and operations, to align event strategies with overall business objectives and execute community programming. Provide excellent customer service, including interacting with internal and external customers to answer questions and resolve problems. Meet tight deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Identify and report any hazards promptly. Ensure safety regulations and procedures are adhered to. Work late nights, early mornings, weekends and holiday hours when needed for event setups and breakdowns. Be available for emergency call-outs. Drive to and from various City locations. Perform additional duties as assigned. In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential and may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description. Complete required trainings as specified within the City Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Event Planning or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Four (4) years of event planning/management work experience. Two (2) years of recent experience with fundraising, sponsorships and public relations. One (1) year of proficient technical aptitude to excel in Microsoft Office Suite and professional social media engagement. Effective and professional oral and written communication skills, including presentation preparation. Valid driver’s license. Must obtain Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days of employment. PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Hospitality, Event Planning or related field. Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP). Complete Crowd Management Training within three (3) months of employment. Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement and a criminal background screening. Driving history for the past three (3) years must reflect no violations of a driving-related felony offense, or driving under the influence (DUI) which includes both drugs and alcohol, reckless driving, or hit and run involving an occupied vehicle or attended property, or an accumulation of traffic violations, plus three (3) points for each attendance at driving school (regardless of whether points were assessed against the license) where the penalty points do not exceed twelve (12). #J-18808-Ljbffr
