The Nuclear Waste Program {rel="nofollow" * (NWP) * within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Permit Data Specialist/Sitewide Permit Writer (Environmental Specialist 3) (In-Training) position. This position is located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA {rel="nofollow". Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
In this position, you will contribute to the Nuclear Waste Programs mission to lead the effective and efficient cleanup of the U.S. Department of Energys Hanford Site. This position supports the management and configuration control of the four major dangerous waste permits of the Nuclear Waste Program (NWP). Configuration control of the permits ensures that the permits are kept consistent, enforceable, and implementable. The Site-wide Hanford permit is the largest and most complex dangerous waste permit in the State of Washington. Gain experience with both state and federal hazardous waste regulations, learn what it takes to manage mixed waste safely, and work on one of the largest and most complex cleanup sites in the nation at the Hanford Site.
Note: *This position offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the * Environmental Specialist field and achieve the goal class of an Environmental Specialist 3. *Candidates will be considered at the Environmental Specialist 1, Environmental Specialist 2, and Environmental Specialist 3 *levels, depending on their qualifications.
