What Youll Be Doing

The Events Coordinator in our Development & Communications department will be responsible for assisting the agency with the success of all agency events.

Your Main Priorities

Supports event planning for major events in the agency (i.e., Townsend Luncheon, Taste of Newport, Child & Family Connections Receptions, the Annual Meeting etc.).

Oversee the volunteer management process and volunteers for agency fundraising efforts such as the Holiday Giving Drive and in-kind giving.

Takes minutes during committee meetings (i.e., special events committees).

Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Requirements, Skills & Abilities:

High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

Experience with event coordination required.

Experience working in a human services or nonprofit setting preferred.

Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.

Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.

Collaboration and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.

Physical Requirements

Operational Staff:

This position involves work in an office setting. Tasks include operating a computer for extended periods, communicating with colleagues, and occasional lifting of office/department materials up to 25lbs. The role also requires the ability to sit for extended periods, bending, reaching, hearing and vision.

Travel Requirements

Site location: Middletown

Statewide travel required.
