The successful candidate is expected to perform engineering tasks in the transportation and highway engineering field through application of relevant design criteria, standards, and processes. Flexible work arrangements may be discussed at the interview stage. Responsibilities: Manage and/or participate in multiple projects simultaneously while exercising a wide degree of independent thought and judgment. Prepare and/or oversee the development of engineering design drawings, studies and reports in all aspects of highway design. Prepare project specifications, engineering cost estimates and perform QA/QC. Develop design solutions for complex projects. Develop or assist in the development of project fees and budgets. Occasionally travel to project/client sites to complete tasks, attend meetings, etc. Participate in presentations such as public meetings. Assist in maintaining existing and building new client relationships. Qualifications: BSCE from ABET accredited engineering program. A minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in the highway engineering field. Drainage, erosion and sediment control / stormwater management design experience is a plus. Experienced with MDOT-SHA project delivery. Professional Engineering License Required (MD License). Strong communication and technical writing skills. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365, MicroStation and Inroads required. Proficiency with Open Roads Designer. Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices.
