Job Overview:

APTIM Federal Services, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Civil/Environmental Engineer in our Norfolk, VA office to support Task Orders under our various Federal contracts. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background in all phases of environmental site characterization and remediation including but not limited to initial investigation, civil site work, and site restoration. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives and colleagues alike. This is a Full-Time position.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Interpretation and analysis of engineering data, development of design documents and specifications, and modeling utilizing various software packages.
  • Collaborate with project staff to develop client proposals; prepare and review workplans, project reports, and other client deliverables.
  • Apply engineering skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks; expected to manage own time to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Implementation of field activities and supervision of others working at project sites, including subcontractor personnel.
  • Possess the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and be able to determine own work priorities within an assigned task.
  • Monitors and controls costs within own work. Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Ensure conformance to applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Mentoring and development of Junior Engineering Staff.
  • Possess a "Safety First" work ethic.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8+ years' work experience in the field of civil and/or environmental engineering associated with government contracts.
  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in VA (additional PA and/or NJ P.E. licensure a plus).
  • Current in OSHA HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and other engineering software programs.
  • Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel as needed based upon project needs.
