CIVIL ENGINEER

Position Overview

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to facilities design and construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver independent, timely, and professional civil engineering support, services, and consultation for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities.
  • Engage in discussions with project stakeholders and collaborate with various engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure system coordination and alignment with project specifications.
  • Provide support for a diverse range of civil engineering projects/services, including site developments, roads, airfields, water supply, sewer systems, drainage, dredging, solid waste facilities, and shore protection.

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices related to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of shore-based engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with DOD and Navy specifications, industry codes, and civil engineering design standards.
  • Understanding of local, state, federal, and international laws affecting civil engineering design.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including AutoCAD and civil design/analysis software.
  • Ability to synthesize analysis results and present findings effectively.
  • Experience in budgeting, planning, and project management, with a focus on team coordination.
  • Commitment to safety policies and practices.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering design for new construction and renovation projects is required.
  • A degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required, complemented by significant hands-on design experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Capable of operating standard office equipment.
  • Ability to perform light lifting as necessary.
  • Willingness to adhere to required safety equipment protocols.
