Assessment funds paid by growers allow MAC to communicate and educate consumers, and research to help sustain and grow the industry in our state.

Are you a self-starter, outgoing, and energized by developing creative marketing strategies and tactics? Are you passionate about Michigan and supporting growers? The MAC has created a new position, Creative Brand Specialist, to support our growth and continued support of the Michigan Apple Industry.

In coordination with the Communications and Marketing Director and the Executive Director, the Creative Brand Specialist is responsible for supporting the Michigan Apple Committees (MAC) overall goals by developing consumer educational, media campaigns and supporting the Committees overall marketing and branding efforts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelors degree and at least three years of experience in marketing and branding, evidenced by a strong portfolio. We are looking for someone with excellent communications and collaboration skills who can easily build relationships and partnerships, both internally and externally.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Create and develop a variety of marketing materials, both digital and non-digital, to support the overall consumption of Michigan Apples.
  2. Create, write, and execute comprehensive consumer educational campaigns and cause-related marketing campaigns that benefit the Michigan Apple Industry.
  3. Organize and conduct consumer research, including facilitating focus groups.
  4. Develop brand partnerships and events.
  5. Manage all MAC events including logistics, materials, and representation.
  6. Represent the MAC at meetings and trade shows as requested by the Executive Director.
  7. Maintain organized files and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency in task completion.
  8. Assist with administrative duties such as data management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, phones, inquiries and reporting as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The MAC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including an excellent retirement plan. The specific compensation range for this position will be disclosed to qualified candidates at the screening phase of our process to ensure that this position is in alignment with candidate expectations and qualifications.

The Creative Brand Specialist is a Michigan-based position operating in a hybrid work environment. To perform the duties of this role, the Creative Brand Specialist will be required to travel periodically 6-8 times a year - to regional and national conferences, trainings and trade shows and will occasionally work an extended day and weekends for events.
