Business Development Director

role with a fast-growing 100-person company. This person will be selling a water/wastewater service supported by a unique technology offering to municipalities. In this role, you will take the company's local success and grow their presence throughout the SouthEast. With a “land and expand” model, this position is hunting for new businesses within the local municipal governments. This is a critical hire as they pivot from predominantly being founder-led in sales to growing a sales team. In order to be considered you must have previous experience in the water/wastewater industry. Doubled their revenue over the last 5 years, and are profitable. Business of the Year - Local Chamber of Commerce. Captured 50% of their local municipal market share without a formal sales team. PE-backed and stable. Compensation and Benefits: Customized Base Salary + Commission (including residual commissions). Ramp. Equity. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with up to 4% match (within 90 days). Company corporate credit card for travel. Hardest part of the job? Selling a new paradigm for the city managers. You have to be able to convince multiple layers of approval along the way to win the account. You can win with one person, but to get the deal, you have to trickle it down to the other stakeholders. Minimum Requirements: At least 5 years in a hunting, business development position. Previous experience closing large (ideally multi-million), multi-year, complex deals. Previous experience selling to the government. Must have experience within the water/wastewater sector. Nice to have: BA Must live in either: SC, FL, GA, AL, MS, LA
