About Us
Avivo's Ending Homelessness division is dedicated to providing pathways to housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Through collaboration with county coordinated entry systems, tribal governments, and unique street outreach teams, we connect unsheltered individuals to shelters and permanent housing. Avivo Village is a low-barrier, culturally responsive shelter focused on moving residents into stable housing. We strive for the highest quality of services using culturally responsive approaches and a deep commitment to harm reduction and housing first principles.

Your Role
As the Program and Client Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Avivo Village. You'll oversee inventory, order supplies, and support resident intake and activities. This role is essential in ensuring our mission-driven services are delivered effectively, with compassion and cultural sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinate and support the operations, intake, and facilities at Avivo Village.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HMIS and Coordinated Entry Assessments.
  • Conduct intakes of residents coming into Avivo Village, completing intake paperwork and data entry.
  • Work closely with the Program Director, Street Outreach, and Shelter Operations teams to meet program and resident needs.
  • Manage resident room staging, intake processes, and provide supplies for activities. Assist in crisis situations, including overdose support.
  • Distribute harm reduction supplies and provide safer use education.
  • Order, stock, and maintain inventory of essential items such as room supplies, food, and harm reduction materials.
  • Foster a positive working environment, provide emergency support, assist in onboarding, and contribute actively to team discussions.
Qualifications

What You Offer:

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience working with single adults experiencing homelessness, Substance Use Disorder, or similar experience.
  • Lived experience is valued and considered.
Commitment to Service:
  • Demonstrated commitment to harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive services.
  • Familiarity with SAMSHA's recovery principles and the National Harm Reduction Coalition's principles.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a keen awareness of healthy boundaries.
  • Ability to advocate for clients in areas like mental health, chemical health, trauma, and tenant's rights.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn internal systems.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations with assertive engagement and creative problem-solving.
Flexibility & Mobility:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record.
