We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating and managing all aspects of logistics operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

  • Processes purchase order receipts in SAP financial system.
  • Will perform timely and accurate inventory transactions in SAP.
  • Verifies accuracy of delivered goods by comparing packing slip documents with the contents of each delivered package in order to ensure the integrity of three-way match with invoices and purchase orders.
  • Organizes delivered inventory. Notifies departments of delivered goods, securing signature approval for materials and equipment; assures that items are accepted by departments in a timely manner, schedules pick-up as necessary, and assures appropriate storage in the interim.
  • As appropriate, assists in unpacking of items and disposing of shipping materials. Prepares items for vendor installation and/or Broad Facilities Group assembly.
  • Applies asset tags to incoming equipment as directed.
  • Advises Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator or Procurement Agent of problems related to purchase orders, deliveries, etc.
  • Communicates with Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator if issues develop that compromise the availability of materials.
  • Responsible for monitoring and replenishing of minimart supplies; will follow up with appropriate departments to ensure timely delivery of required items.
  • Conduct recurring physical inventory of stockrooms and lab storage to ensure accurate reporting and ordering.
  • Notify Coordinator and team leaders when new items are requested or available.
  • Performs inter-building equipment moves as directed by Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator.
  • Required to be available for glass wash, equipment sterilization, plate labeling, and other duties as is necessary.
  • Must be capable of driving a 20-foot delivery truck between Institute locations.
  • Performs other related responsibilities as necessary as assigned by the Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator.
