Job Title: HR Assistant

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organizing and maintaining personnel records.
  • Process all pre-hire applicants' information for background screening
  • Process new hires, follows up and ensure all outstanding paperwork is returned complete
  • Use E-Verify, enter all personnel data in Coins OA/HR
  • Handle all personnel changes and requests, processing them in a timely manner
  • Union Monthly Contribution Reporting
  • Computer data entry & confirming data produced is correct
  • Sort all papers alphabetically and according to content, dates, significance etc. and file documents in their proper location.
  • Run payroll reports for weekly payroll needs as well as for audits and special projects.
  • Maintain records/check offs for insurance, compliance courses and contribution letters.
  • Adheres to the strict confidentiality guidelines of the department.
  • Participate in HR projects and other special tasks as assigned.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
  • Three-year minimum work experience in a human resources or payroll department
  • High school diploma or GED is required, associate degree is preferred
  • Must have computer literacy in MS Office applications especially Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Effective communications skills and ability to work well communicating in a multi-site organization.
  • Detail oriented, logical and ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to coordinate with a team and work well with others
