Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the accounting department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strong understanding of all transactional finance including but not limited to Interest calculations, intercompany transactions, Debt and Equity investments, Cash, Banking, Trade activities etc. This role will require that the candidate possess the ability to operate within a deadline driven environment and be able to multitask not only their day-to-day responsibilities, but also conduct special ad hoc requests/projects as they arise. Support monthly/quarterly/year end close processes by preparing journal entries for multiple entities assigned and reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Prepare and journal entries and other transactions in the accounting system while preparing and maintaining relevant supporting workpapers. Prepare GL account reconciliations while maintaining relevant supporting workpapers. Responsibility for timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close adhering to a close schedule. Organize and prepare supporting information and reports for annual financial audit and work with outside auditors. Work with 2 systems – (1) Asset Management subledger and (2) Accounting / consolidation system and ensures reconciliation between both systems. Document any process or policy changes to ensure procedures are up to date for someone else to back up work. Additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance 2 – 6 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities; experience in a Financial Services or Insurance environment a plus Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Previous experience with Workday a plus Previous experience with Investment or insurance accounting a plus

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $64,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $80,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
