Our partner, The Mom Project, collaborates with innovative companies to provide vital business administration solutions tailored for startups. They empower entrepreneurs by managing their financial operations, allowing them to concentrate on their core business activities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, you will:
- Maintain comprehensive records of financial transactions by accurately posting, verifying, and allocating entries within the accounting system.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including bill payments, invoice dispatch, and follow-ups on overdue accounts.
- Review and manage the general ledger along with subsidiary accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Execute the month-end closing process for clients, preparing essential reports, adjusting journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations promptly.
- Generate financial reports that analyze and summarize critical information for clients.
- Assist in the establishment of general ledger, payroll, and billing systems for new startups lacking foundational infrastructure.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Gusto and Brex is advantageous.
- Experience in e-commerce, manufacturing, or inventory accounting is a plus.
- A customer-focused approach with a genuine desire to assist clients.
- A readiness to thrive in a dynamic environment alongside a team of entrepreneurs.
