A leading real estate company in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to join their team on a temporary basis This role is essential for ensuring the continuity of our financial operations during a transitional period. You'll be directly responsible for managing the month-end close process, handling accounts payable, and overseeing corporate revenues and monthly distributions.

This position is expected to last 3 to 6 months, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who excels in high-impact roles and enjoys taking ownership of complex accounting tasks. It s perfect for someone who might be between jobs, looking to gain additional experience, or simply wanting to step into a meaningful role for a few months. Salary Range: $30 - $40 / hour DOE

Interim Accounting Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience at a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager level
  • Proficiency in financial spreadsheet software (Excel) and accounting applications such as Timberline and Yardi
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and internal controls
  • Ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting is preferred but not required
Interim Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end close process for assigned corporate entities
  • Oversee accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions
  • Handle corporate revenues, reimbursements, and monthly distributions
  • Record minority interest entries to parent company records
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting packages
  • Process invoices, record payment receipts, and manage daily positive pay decisions
  • Initiate book transfers, ACH, and wires on various bank platforms
  • Assist with corporate credit card processing and expense reimbursements
  • Prepare owner distribution schedules and ensure timely payments
  • Process corporate business licenses and support ad hoc projects as needed
