MNS is hiring a Resident Engineer to serve as the Owner's professional representative on bridge and roadway construction projects, assuring projects are being built according to the contract documentsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks in conjunction with technical field inspectors and project team members to assure project goals are being metPerforms a variety of construction engineering, including but not limited to roadways and bridges.Responsible for project Quality Control and AssuranceManages professional and technical staff and contract administrationReviews change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, surveyingConducts weekly project meetings and oversees utility coordinationArranges for materials testing, surveying, grade verification, and requests for paymentEnsures EEO/labor compliance for the project Prepares progress and final documents to meet State and Federal Highway AdministrationWorks on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex featuresPrepares and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assuranceAssists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisorSupervises all staff necessary to complete assignments and is responsible for project profitabilityMaintains scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignmentsPrepares proposals to provide professional services under the direction of a Principal Construction ManagerResolves issues arising from the inspection process or from contract administrationAssists with recruitment and conducts job performance evaluationsPrimary point of contact with clients and approving agenciesOther related duties as assigned RequirementsMINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BS in Civil EngineeringCalifornia registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) requiredValid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver's record are required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 8 + years construction contract management experience related to roadway and/or bridge construction projects Working knowledge of CALTRANS and local agency projects, as well as document coordination on federally funded projects desired OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS Possesses good oral and written communication skillsInteracts with other staffRepresents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignmentsAble to negotiate change orders effectivelyAble to effectively manage peopleMNS Engineers is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our team members.
