Fehr & Peers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced transportation engineer to join our team and contribute to our safety practice, research, and client relationships. As a transportation safety expert, you will engage in transportation engineering and planning studies with a focus on safety, while collaborating with our team to enhance multimodal safety and mobility.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage tasks for engineering and planning studies, with a focus on safety projects
  • Develop and implement safety strategies and countermeasures
  • Conduct safety analysis and data-driven research
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address safety concerns
  • Lead walking audits and road safety audits with stakeholder groups

**Requirements:**

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation engineering
  • Ability to thrive in an environment encouraging initiative, vision, autonomy, and creativity
  • Experience building leadership and growth through teamwork, collaboration, and inclusivity
  • Familiarity with Highway Safety Manual concepts and experience in applying HSM methodologies
  • Knowledge of safety countermeasure selection and design

**Additional Desirable Experience & Qualifications:**

  • Experience leading proposals and nurturing client relationships
  • Experience with mentoring and training staff
  • Familiarity with industry safety programs, policies, manuals, and guidance
