Summary

The Business Manager is primarily responsible for providing business support for operations and administration at Krome SPC. This position oversees the entire Business Operations group including but not limited to: HR, IT, Mail, Commissary, and Warehouse. The Business Manager is responsible for ensuring completion and delivery of reports to the Assistant Facility Administrator.

*Please Note: This position is contingent upon a contract award. We will not be actively responding to applicants until there is a need to move forward with this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Business Manager's daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Oversees Ahtna Quality Management System. Works closely with personnel to maintain accurate records and budgets. Responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely reports to the Assistant Facility Administrator. Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational performance. Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to business management, budget, managerial accounting, and/or payroll. Oversee HR, IT, Mail, Commissary, and Warehouse departments. Provide leadership, manage, and develop direct reporting staff. Clear communication with executive management. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Supervision

Supervises Business Operations group within the Krome detention center.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related fields. Experience may be substituted 1:1 for education.

Minimum three (3) years of experience as a business and/or administrative manager. Experience working with various cross-functional department leads. Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures Proficiency in the Spanish language

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the office with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 2 hours.

Work is performed in an office setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination, and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment.
