Patient Access Rep
Summary:
- Data collection and accurate input into the hospital registration system
- Obtains signatures on all appropriate forms and issues all required notices to the patient or appropriate family member.
- Verifies insurance, identifies certification requirements, and obtains them when necessary. Notifies appropriate
- supervisory personnel if patient present for services and authorization is required but not on file.
- Calculates estimated amount due and request payment using the hospital approved scripts.
- Accurate and thorough documentation of pertinent events regarding the handling of the account, including
- researching prior accounts.
- Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. The ability to interpret medical terminology required.
Experience:
One to two years of clerical skills required. Insurance verification and hospital or medical experience preferred.
Additional Skills / Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills required. Computer experience required. Must be able to type 30 WPM.
