About this Opportunity:

As a Business Development Representative, you will navigate the complexities of the wealth management sector, focusing on engaging Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). The BDR will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, establishing meaningful connections with decision-makers and influencers at RIAs, and nurturing these relationships until they are ready to be introduced to the sales team. This role requires a keen understanding of the wealth management industry, proficiency in B2B sales strategies, and a strong capability in managing account-based sales engagements. The individual will need to be able to work with multiple teams, including sales development, marketing, and the sales team, to execute the objectives of converting leads accounts to opportunities. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

We can consider external candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule in one of our following offices: Omaha, NE, Berwyn, PA, Sacramento, CA, Hebron, KY, Chandler, AZ, Provo, UT, or Idaho Falls, ID.

In this role, you'll get to:
  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Conduct in-depth market research to identify and engage potential RIA clients, setting the stage for effective sales conversations
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations that align our technology solutions with the specific needs of our target buyers
  • Market Intelligence: Keep a pulse on the latest trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments within the wealth management sector
  • Sales Engagement: Utilize CRM and Sales tools to track lead interactions, feedback, and sales progression
  • Collaborative Strategy Development: Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to refine approaches and integrate client insights into business strategies
  • Achieving Sales Goals: Consistently meet and exceed established sales targets and objectives
  • Account-Based Sales Engagement: Effectively manage Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs), re-engagements, and targeted lists to create detailed contact and account profiles to facilitate the conversion of these leads into revenue-generating opportunities
We're looking for talent who:
  • Has B2B sales experience, preferably within wealth management or fintech sectors
  • Has familiarity with the RIA landscape and its challenges
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Is proficient in CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Is a self-starter with a drive to succeed in a competitive market
  • Preferably has a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Possess FINRA Series 65 or 7 and 66 OR ability to acquire within first 90 days
  • Has minimum of 6 months of experience in customer service or inside sales
  • Preferably has experience working within the Financial Services industry
  • Obtain Orion Industry Certification
  • Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
