Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00
Hours: Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm

The Lee Group is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support various HR functions at our client's Norfolk, Virginia, headquarters. We are looking for a professional and detail-oriented individual to work closely with the HR team, managers, and employees. In this role, you will focus on benefits administration and talent acquisition tasks, providing essential support to all US-based associates in locations including Florida, Texas, California, Michigan, and New York. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring effective HR operations and will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Responsibilities of a Human Resources Assistant:
  • Enter and maintain employee information in the UltiPro HR system.
  • Assist in the talent acquisition and onboarding processes, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and managing background checks and drug tests.
  • Serve as a point of contact for new employees and facilitate the orientation process.
  • Support benefits administration tasks, including data entry, creating benefit packets, and scheduling benefits meetings.
  • Administer the Uniform Program and handle employment verification requests.
  • Participate in various HR and administrative projects as needed.
  • Assist in planning corporate social events.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing, scanning, and reception coverage.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to employees and vendors.
Requirements of a Human Resources Assistant:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Clerical, Administrative, or Human Resources roles.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize demands effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Familiarity with HR concepts and practices is a plus.
  • aPHR Certification preferred.
  • Experience with UltiPro by Ultimate Kronos Group is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current Federal, State, and local HR laws is desirable.
