Damar has a great opportunity for a Patient Services Coordinator to be part of a multi-disciplinary team, in an integrated care setting that offers complete patient care, and the opportunity to collaborate with psychiatrists, clinicians, physicians, nursing staff, and community health workers.

Where would I be working? The Patient Services Coordinator will work at our outpatient clinic, Damar Health Services, located at 5715 Decatur Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46241

What would I be doing? You will oversee the scheduling and follow-up of medical appointments, coordinate and schedule medical appointments, and perform medical billing and coding.

  • Preparation of information that will be needed for patient visits.
  • When necessary, contacting patients for reminders of information that is required.
  • Confirm patient demographics and update any new or changed information regarding the patient, verify insurance coverage, scan required documents into patients chart.
  • Collect Insurance co-payments, collect previous balances.
  • Checking patients in to clinic: includes having patients fill out forms completely, entering all patient information into EMR, and verifying patient insurance.
  • Answering phones to schedule patients, answer patient questions, and send messages to providers.
  • Direct calls as appropriate.
  • Managing and routing incoming faxes and patient emails
  • Provide multidisciplinary support.

What you need to be considered...

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
  • Valid Indiana drivers license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damars insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical required.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
