The  Foster Care  Coordinator is a supervisory and mentoring role and is responsible for providing immediate support during crisis situations and coordinating the care of children within the foster home program. The coordinator ensures that all children receive consistent trauma-informed services through the foster family (Home Care Service Providers) by assisting them in building secure attachment and resilience for life transitions. The role involves implementing the day-to-day operations and administrative tasks of HCSPs, ensuring a high quality of life for all children in our care. This role also serves as a mentor and supervisor to an Assistant Coordinator and a Placement Specialist. Collaboratively, they manage a team of 20 foster parents who provide care to 30 children.

All roles within the programs have a common focus on creating safety for the children we serve. By building trust, we work towards helping children feel supported and empowered to live their lives. We seek compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated individuals. Neighborhood Ministries is a faith-based organization with a strong culture of growth and lifelong learning.

**Essential Functions**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong organizational and time management skills.

- Directing, training, and developing all direct reports to ensure quality services are rendered to children.
- Facilitating regular meetings with the HCSP Team and attending all required training sessions.
- Weekly ownership of team check-ins and 1-on-1s with HCSPs.
- Overseeing the services provided to children in our programs and the quality assurance process.
- Provide weekly, unannounced check-ins in all areas where children reside to ensure their safety, well-being, and best care practices.
- Model crisis intervention techniques and adaptation with HCSPs for behavior challenges.
- Function effectively with little supervision while following the procedures, guidelines, agency, federal, county, and state regulatory requirements.
- Spot check on HCSP payments and stay within budgetary guidelines.
- Regular meetings and partnerships with the Director of ORR Programs and/or Director of Operations and other relevant leaders to ensure programming consistency and service deliverables for the children.
- Staying current on trends and theories related to the program while proactively recommending changes to agency policy and practice as necessary.
- Maintain, enhance, and develop positive relationships with referral sources, community agencies, and community progressions.
- Coordinate with the policy and procedures committee while ensuring policy consistency with COA, OLR, ORR, AZDHS, and other contract regulations
- Collaborate with intake and referral teams to ensure appropriate capacity and placement of children in HCSP Homes.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Computer proficiency is a must.
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills are essential.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience in instructional coaching or a related role is preferred.
- Flexibility in work schedule is necessary, including the ability to be on-call nights and weekends.
- Understand that job responsibilities may vary based on program needs.
- Professionalism, proactivity, and self-motivation are key, along with the ability to follow directions.
- Effective time management skills are needed, including the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks.
- A strong work ethic is required, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
