Job Summary:
This is a full-time position in Washington, DC, with potential for remote work with client approval. This is a contingent hire.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely briefing analyses of congressional hearings to Office of Information Technology (OIT) Congressional Team and senior leaders.
- Assist in drafting responses to Congress and other oversight groups about important policy issues for senior VA officials.
- Conduct legislative analyses of proposed bills and existing laws that may impact VA’s OIT work.
- Monitor, coordinate, and track the status of incoming and open requests for information, questions for the record, and requests for technical assistance.
- Translate complex messaging into plain language to ensure materials are easy to read, understand and use.
- Coordinate speaking engagement details with event organizers and relevant VA stakeholders to prepare OIT’s leadership for participation.
- Review documents for stylistic and formatting consistency.
- Ensure all content aligns with client style guides and federal plain language standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government, preferably with VA.
- Experience supporting the creation, execution and measurement of strategic communications plans.
- Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

- Strong critical thinking, analytical and time management skills.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
- Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas and solutions logically both written and orally.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to receive feedback from senior-level clients and implement changes quickly and effectively.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Experience supporting federal agencies.
- Experience with SES-level stakeholders and VA Leadership.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Active VA PIV card is a priority.
