We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy Director to join our team at Good Energy Collective. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission through strategic policy development, external engagements, and congressional outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Develop, refine, and implement a policy agenda that aligns with our mission and vision. You will lead efforts to craft and advocate for progressive nuclear policies.
  • Legislative Engagement: Field and delegate congressional requests for input on political and policy issues. Oversee the development and placement of legislation that supports our objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Inform and shape our policy agenda through regular interactions with external stakeholders, including governmental agencies, coalitional partners, academic institutions, and business interests.
Policy Dissemination:
  • Impact Tracking: Assist in the qualitative and quantitative tracking of our policy impact, ensuring our strategies are effective and aligned with our goals.
  • Public Communications: Develop public statements on policy matters, speak with the press, and represent Good Energy Collective at external events, conferences, and workshops.
External Partnerships:
  • Relationship Building: Strengthen and expand our network of external partners to further our mission. Engage with governmental, union, academic, and Tribal organizations to build broad coalitions of support.
  • Coalition Participation: Oversee our involvement in external coalitions and working groups, ensuring our policy priorities are well-represented and advanced.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 6 years in energy or climate policy, with significant congressional engagement and advocacy expertise. Familiarity with the federal legislative process and nuclear energy is highly desirable.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of policy analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills to develop data-driven policy recommendations and assess the impact of legislative initiatives.
  • Networking: Established relationships within the policy and advocacy community, particularly in the energy sector, and demonstrated the ability to build and leverage these connections.
  • Commitment: A deep commitment to our mission and a passion for racial, environmental, economic, and social justice.
  • Adaptability: Ability to navigate the ever-changing energy policy landscape with agility and strategic foresight.
  • Cultural Awareness: An understanding of our communities' diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds with an inclusive and equitable approach to policy development.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: $110,000 to $150,000, depending on experience.
