**Job Summary**

The Area Resource Coordinator in conjunction with other Area Dispatchers dispatches labor and heavy equipment to projects.

Resource Manager

General Superintendents, Superintendents, Foremen, Human Resource Manager, Operations Managers, Safety and Training Manager

**Typical Duties**
- Maintains a safety-first culture and actively participates in the “Safety Buck” program; hold weekly safety meetings with all area resource personnel.
- Report all employee and equipment accidents, thefts, and vandalisms to the Safety Manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure that security systems and in place to prevents theft or vandalism.
- Receive field communication for labor and equipment needs on projects and assign and confirm those resources using dispatch software.
- Maintain positive working relationships with union dispatchers and business agents.
- Track dispatch requests for local hire and apprentice requests and communicates that information to the Certified Payroll Specialist.
- Assist in the scheduling of equipment repairs and metal fabrication, and small tool repairs, based on urgency of the repair and priority of the field construction schedule.
- Coordinate heavy equipment moves with Transport Drivers obtain necessary permits as required.
- Develop and maintain communication with the field supervision with the goal of keeping crew continuity. Forecast potential labor shortages.
- Process all field new hire orientations including filling new hire paperwork, drug testing, and safety training.
- Bring any employee-related issues to the immediate attention of the Human Resources Manager and/or Area Manager and General Superintendents as appropriate.
- Working with the Resource Manager, overseeing the maintenance and promotion of a safe, clean, and organized Resource Department which includes warehouse shop and yard.
- Ensure that all employees working under your supervision adhere to M&H policies and procedures.
- Works with Shop Foreman in follow up on Daily Visual Inspections.
- Identifies potential improvements to Resource Department policies and procedures and communicates these to the Resource Manager.
- Coordinate equipment inspections performed by CHP, BIT, PUC, and PERP compliance.
- Working with Resource Manager, manager PERP compliance for the Company.
- Analyze the cost to repair equipment. Research and recommend equipment to buy, rent, and sell, and production improvements to management; Keep abreast of new equipment technologies.
- Maintain professional relationships with equipment rental companies and haulers with the goal of obtaining the best service at the best price for McGuire & Hester. Maintain independence and high ethical standards when dealing with the same.
- Communicate with other dispatcher to ensure efficient use of equipment and manpower.
- Process Purchase orders for Sacramento Resource.

**Qualifications**

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred plus 3-5 years’ experience in the coordination of labor, material, and equipment

Language Skills: must be able to read and write in English; Bi-lingual in Spanish helpful but not required

Mathematical Skills: basic math

Computer Skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, construction scheduling software and the ability to learn and use a variety of computer programs and other technologies; must be able to type 50 wpm

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record
