SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Human Resource ("HR") activities, programs, and administration for the organization to support and build a highly engaged staff that is challenged and aligned with the CSBA's values. The position works collaboratively with HR to provide services with regard to recruitment, HRIS, benefits, leave of absences, compensation, and HR administration. The position collaborates with internal partners and external vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates and supports various HR programs including benefits, performance management, staff appreciation and events, recruitment and onboarding, talent development, and other areas as assigned.
  • Interacts with all organizational levels within, and external, to CSBA to ensure human resource functions are effectively executed to support the strategic objectives and growth of the CSBA.
  • Compiles and keeps personnel records and data for employees; documents HR processes and procedures, and processes change of status forms.
  • Maintains office supplies and materials.
  • Seeks continual improvement opportunities for HR processes and procedures.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and requests for the Human Resources department, screens calls, and refers to proper person for action; assists directly with routine inquiries within CSBA policy (employment verification, benefit claims processing, and job openings).
  • Assists with the administration of all company benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; disability and workers' compensation; 457 Plan and other benefits.
  • Coordinates and promotes staff engagement through events including, but not limited to, team building, achievement celebrations, annual Summer and Winter staff events, monthly Staff Meetings, and other staff activities.
  • Prepares recruitment announcements and posts vacancies.
  • Assists with administrative tasks for onboarding and exiting employees, including submitting ticket requests to the IT and Facilities departments; updating relevant databases; and tracking paperwork.
  • Coordinates the Performance Management process and programs.
  • Ensures the correct tools and resources are available to assist, reward and retain employees.
  • Coordinates development programs by identifying knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences needed to support department and organizational needs and to support the strategic growth of the organization.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of the HR annual budget; tracks department invoices and sends them to Accounting for processing.
  • Coordinates with the Director, Human Resources regarding compensation, benefits, HR policies, and HRIS.
  • Processes documentation to assure all participants are in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ensures accurate data management for the organization. Updates employees' information into HRIS and the internet directory; updates emergency contact information; updates organizational charts.
  • Maintains and updates office bulletin boards to comply with local, state, and Federal policies and laws.
  • Assists with payroll and timekeeping administration, reviews, analyzes, and ensures accuracy of information in the HRIS; inputs and verifies accruals.
  • Assists with processing FMLA and other leaves of absence.
  • Reads and demonstrates an understanding and adherence to CSBA values, policies, and practices.
  • Demonstrates respect, honesty and professionalism at all times.
  • Adheres to an established work schedule and the organization's timekeeping practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements

Knowledge of:
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, administrative principles and practices of business letter writing, report formatting and preparation, data collection, information management, recordkeeping principles and procedures, and business mathematics and statistical techniques.
  • Principles of human resource administration.
  • HR laws & regulations, HR practices and terms, strong business acumen.
  • Computer applications related to the work, including word processing, database entry and management, spreadsheet applications, and calendaring/scheduling programs.
  • Techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and Association employees.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an associate's degree or higher with major coursework in human resources, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field with three (3) years of progressive, responsible administrative experience in human resources. Experience planning special programs or events is desirable.
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Employee works in a primarily sedentary office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
  • Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines, instructions, and policies.
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person, and over the telephone; must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed in the execution of duties.
  • Must be able to sit at computer for long periods of time and have the dexterity to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds, hand truck available to assist.
  • May be asked to travel.
  • May be asked to work occasional overtime.
