**DESCRIPTION**:
The University of California San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Athletics Travel & Camps Coordinator. UC San Diego, located in La Jolla, in the San Diego Metropolitan area, enrolls over 35,000 students, earned recognition as one of the world’s premier research universities, and is ranked as one of the top-10 public universities in the nation. UC San Diego Athletics has a proud tradition of academic and athletic excellence, sponsors 23 varsity sports, and is a member of the Big West Conference.

Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic travel and camps initiatives for the Intercollegiate Athletics program which is critical for the overall success across all 23 sport programs at UC San Diego. Coordinating the multi-faceted NCAA team and recruiting travel, official and unofficial visits to campus by prospective scholar-athletes as well as professional travel. Oversees the sports camps for Athletics and will assist with negotiations for the sports camp program with on-campus service providers such as Conference Services, Dining Facilities and the Recreation Facilities Office to better leverage the overall program to enhance department revenues and better utilize overall resources.

Specific sport/area assignments for both travel and camps will be shared between the Coordinator and Specialist and assigned internally, with the Specialist being in a lead role.

Preparation of cash deposits for various revenues (i.e. camp, entry fees, guarantees, etc) and administer the change fund. Analyze transactions to ensure proper distribution of income/expenses and assign account coding to deposits and travel reconciliations to assure that revenue and expenses are properly recorded in university ledgers and on the annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report. Work with Compliance to ensure NCAA rules with regard to campus visits and policies set up with University travel office. The incumbent will follow the athletic philosophy consistent with that of the UC San Diego Athletic Department and NCAA, and a commitment to diversity in all of its forms.

The incumbent is required to work independently, show initiative, and use creativity to research and/or suggest alternative solutions to problems that are unique to an athletic program.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Professional demeanor and knowledge of proper etiquette and confidentiality in order to interact effectively with prospective donors, alumni, students, parents, university administrators and athletic coaching staff.
