Reporting to the CTO, the Vice President of Engineering will lead the engineering team (people, process, communication) for Redflag AI to effectively deliver new features and products.

The** essential duties and responsibilities **include:
People
- Manage a team of 15+ remote engineers across multiple teams and continents
- Establish a culture of collaboration, innovation, rapid iteration, care for quality and a focus on the customer experience
- Instill a growth mindset with a focus on mentorship and career development
- Recruit, hire and onboard world-class engineering talent
- Develop career roadmaps for the Engineering organization, supporting personal and professional growth
- Develop a recruiting and onboarding plan for new engineers
- Streamline the team for high-velocity and efficient delivery of results

Process
- Be the process owner. Develop and manage a planning, sprint, delivery, and retrospective cadence
- Own the entire development lifecycle, from architecture design, to sprint execution, testing and deployment
- Create and maintain a continuous integration pipeline and culture of frequent deployment
- Track KPIs and improve process based on results
- Continually improve the way features are developed and deployed

Communication
- Represent engineering to the rest of the company, and ensure the engineers always understand the goals of the business and how everyone across the company is contributing.
- As the team grows ensure all remote team members feel like first class citizens
- Work closely with Product, Sales and Customer Success to streamline cross team communication

- Continuous progress is made towards the product vision, with frequent small releases
- Engineers are delivery and results oriented
- The engineering team is happy and effective
- KPIs are in place and are regularly being met
- The system is of high quality and stable, without needs for regular rollbacks or severe bugs regularly making it to production
- You have brought a growth mindset to the team and are continuously looking for ways to improve

**Education and work experience** requirements are:

- 10+ years as a Senior Engineer with 5+ managing teams
- 5+ years of project management

- Strong skills in verbal and written communications, strategic planning, and project management
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work across multiple workstreams
- Comfortable diving into the details of a specific bug and zooming out to strategic planning
- Expert knowledge of Ruby, Python, Node, AWS, web-site crawling technologies, TDD, PostgreSQL, Mongo, AWS Redshift

Our** base pay **philosophy is important:
**Base salary range: $160-210k, DOE**
