We are currently looking for a dedicated, highly organized, and meticulous Administrative Assistant to help our office run smoothly and efficiently. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term career opportunity with great benefits.

This position will work directly with the International Vice President, the Great Lakes Area Business Manager-Secretary Treasurers, Assistant Business Managers, Apprenticeship Coordinators, Directors of Training, their Administrative Assistants, and members active and retired, in a wide-range of administrative and supportive capacities. The purpose of this position is to provide secretarial and clerical duties for the organization. A High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) with at least three (3) years of similar work experience is highly recommended. All applicants must be proficient in all areas of
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) and all social media platforms.

A few of the specific skills that all administrative assistants should possess include:

- **Decision-making**: Administrative Assistants must make independent decisions daily, addressing the best way to manage specific tasks.
- **Communications and collaboration**: An Administrative Assistant must collaborate with other administrators and support personnel, management, and others on a regular basis.
- **Organizational skills**: Organization and prioritization are the core elements of the Administrative Assistant’s responsibilities. You must know how to keep yourself and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important and prioritize.
- **Writing**: Spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and writing are essential to an Administrative Assistant, who must be proficient in a variety of styles, from creative to professional to technical to education and more.
- **Self-Motivated**: One of the most significant skills sets one can have, which is crucial for this position.

The core duties and responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant I revolve around supporting others. Job duties can vary widely, not just from job to job, but from day to day at the same job. On any given day, they may perform a variety of tasks, such as:

- Answer phones and greet visitors.
- Maintain calendars and schedules.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings.
- Collate and distribute mail.
- Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents.
- Answering questions, providing information, taking, and processing orders and addressing complaints.
- Compiling, maintaining, and updating records.
- Managing office inventory and collaborating with vendors to ensure the regular supply of office materials.
- Setting up appointments, scheduling meetings, distributing reports, and managing the correspondence between the office and our external bodies.
- Operating office equipment including printers, copiers, fax machines and multimedia instruments.

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
