**Job Summary**

The Srivastava lab is hiring a Researcher II to assist with overall coordination of the Srivastava Lab. Working independently but in consultation with Dr. Srivastava, this individual will design and conduct experiments, including the development of new techniques and protocols, relating to research questions identified by the PI.

**Position Description**
- Plans, develops, designs and conducts complex research projects related to regeneration and stem cell biology for the Srivastava lab. Investigates, modifies and develops new protocols, and procedures, and integrates new findings into lab procedures.
- With PI, responsible for the completion of projects and the attainment of lab objectives. Collaborates on articles for submission to scientific journals and publications, and co-authors manuscripts for publications.
- Responsible for daily maintenance and operations of the Lab. Determines what supplies to purchase for lab, replenishes consumables and glassware, and properly stores and inventories instruments and hardware.
- Troubleshoots equipment, performs repairs, and arranges for equipment maintenance and repair by vendors as needed, including for the recently installed saltwater tank system. Assigns and oversees individual lab member tasks/duties and organizes lab-wide cleaning efforts.
- Works collaboratively with members in the lab in the design of laboratory experiments, techniques and protocols to support their research.
- Supervises temps by checking work, monitoring workload, and providing feedback when needed. Conducts orientation for new lab members and administers lab-specific exit checklists.
- Trains graduate, post-docs, researchers and others on the lab equipment.

**Basic Qualifications**

Bachelor’s degree in biology, genetics/genomics, or closely related field. At least 3 years’ experience in a research lab is required.
