Community Outreach Specialist

Community Outreach Specialist will work as a canvassers within the assigned community. **This is a temporary role in Seminole County.**
You will be setting up small events in local neighborhoods to speak with voters about an upcoming election.

**Canvasser duties**:
- Canvassing at events
- Speaking directly with individual from the community regarding an initiative
- Event set up on an everyday basis
- Approaching and talking to people in malls, on the street, and in their homes about the company or organization.
- Displaying knowledge of the product or organization and attempting to sway opinions.
- Get information, such as contact details and signatures, from potential leads and clients for follow-up
- Work both individually and within a team environment to set and accomplish daily campaign goals
- Consistently meet daily and weekly quotas for client information and signature acquisition
- Answering questions about the company product, leader or organization.
- Attending rallies, shows, fairs, and other industry-related events.
- Maintaining a professional appearance.
**Requirements for a Political Canvasser**:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous work experience as a Canvasser. Sales experience preferable.
- Positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be outgoing and friendly
- This requires excellent communication skills, customer service and marketing knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license
- Dedicated to progressive policies and politics
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation to get to the Canvassing locations
- Ability to sell ideas or products and sway opinions.
- Ability to work after-hours and on weekends.
- Ability to travel extensively as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
**Job Type**: Contract
Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
