Position Overview:

The Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist will be responsible for coordinating efforts to achieve and maintain excellence certifications, including those for Heart Failure and Stroke. This role involves overseeing quality improvement initiatives within a department or broader quality assurance team, focusing on data collection and reporting for disease-specific certifications and accreditations.

  1. Manage all activities, metrics, and compliance standards related to disease-specific care for Heart Failure and Stroke.
  2. Gather, input, analyze, and present quality improvement data and activities, including core measure data and quality metrics.
  3. Ensure hospital-wide adherence to accreditation standards specific to certifications.
  4. Lead performance improvement teams focused on disease-specific care.
  5. Provide educational resources and support for hospital staff and leadership.
  6. Oversee accreditation survey processes.
  7. Conduct quality orientation for new hires.
  8. Engage in interdisciplinary team rounds.
  9. Exhibit problem-solving capabilities and implement strategies to enhance patient care delivery.
  10. Lead community outreach initiatives related to disease-specific care.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.

Licensure: Must possess a Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state.

Certification: Heart Failure Nurse Certification is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required.
