**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:Greet customers warmly and assist them in a courteous and friendly manner.
Listen attentively to customer inquiries, needs, and concerns, providing accurate and relevant information.
Offer solutions, recommendations, and options to help customers make informed rental decisions.

**Rental Transactions**:Process rental agreements accurately and efficiently using U-Haul's computerized systems.
Handle cash and credit card transactions for rentals and other services.
Ensure proper documentation, such as identification and payment details, is collected and recorded.

**Equipment Knowledge**:Familiarize yourself with U-Haul's range of rental equipment, including trucks, trailers, vans, and towing equipment.
Provide detailed explanations of equipment features, usage guidelines, and safety instructions to customers.

**Reservations and Scheduling**:Assist customers in making reservations, modifying existing reservations, and scheduling rental pickups and returns.
Manage rental schedules to optimize equipment availability and customer satisfaction.

**Problem Resolution**:Address customer concerns, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally.
Work to resolve problems to the best of your ability while adhering to company policies.

**Maintenance and Upkeep**:Maintain a clean and organized rental office area.
Conduct basic cleaning and maintenance checks on rental equipment when necessary.

**Sales and Upselling**:Present additional products and services that align with customers' needs, such as moving supplies, insurance coverage, and other add-ons.
Upsell when appropriate to enhance customer experiences and increase revenue.

**Compliance and Safety**:Ensure compliance with U-Haul's policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Emphasize the importance of safe driving practices and proper equipment usage to customers.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Cash handling experience is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Friendly, approachable demeanor and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort standing for extended periods and performing tasks that involve bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

The U-Haul Counter Person is an integral part of the customer experience at U-Haul rental locations. By providing exceptional service and knowledgeable assistance, you contribute to U-Haul's reputation for reliable and customer-focused solutions for moving and transportation needs.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
