**Introduction**:
The Division of Parks and Recreation operates and maintains 17 state parks and related preserves and greenways throughout Delaware. The state's land protection programs are also administered by the Division. The Division is additionally responsible for providing recreational opportunities and educational and interpretive programs for the public.

**Summary Statement**:
The Division of Parks & Recreation owns/maintains 37 tenant houses and 2 market rental units statewide. This position will be responsible for the tracking and execution of maintenance for 14 units throughout the southern portion of the state.

**Essential Functions**:
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.
- Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the southern region
- Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units
- Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections
- Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit
- Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division’s standard
- Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**:
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

- 1. Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
- 2. Six months experience in record keeping.
- 3. Knowledge of estimating cost, time and materials for projects.
- 4. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

This position will have Statewide responsibilities which requires travel throughout the State. The State of Delaware provides transportation services to State agencies.
