This role will work closely with our Marketing & Public Relations Manager to enhance our brand presence and engage with our community. A key part of this position involves managing Morris the Explorasaurus, who plays a crucial role in the Great Explorations brand and social media content development. Morris is central to our marketing efforts, bringing joy and excitement to our audience. Working with Morris is a fun and unique aspect of this role, allowing us to creatively engage with our audience and promote our museum's mission.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist the PR & Marketing Manager with marketing and museum communications.
- Develop content for social media, e-newsletters, and the museum website.
- Schedule and manage social media posts and stories.
- Actively engage as Great Explorations and Morris Explores on all social media platforms.
- Maintain and update the social media calendar in the workflow.
- Collaborate with all departments to create social and printed graphics for programs, promotions, and events.
- Update and maintain the museum website.
- Organize and maintain the marketing shared documents drive.
- Represent the museum at some offsite events on weekends.
- Handle interactions with guests and the community for Morris the Explorasaurus, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
- Coordinate printing and production of marketing materials, gallery floor signage, and exhibit components.
- Keep Morris’s room neat and tidy, reorganizing after marketing events.
- Attend outreach and community engagement events as needed.
- Work closely with Morris the Explorasaurus to develop promotions and videos.
- Promote special events, programs, membership reciprocities, and other areas of interest across Great Explorations' social media channels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, visual arts, graphic design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and Adobe Design programs.

**Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Attributes**:

- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills (writing, spelling, vocabulary).
- Strong grasp of desktop publishing software, Microsoft Office, WordPress, and Adobe Suite.
- Experience with website development and WordPress.
- Excellent customer service skills and follow-through.
- Knowledge and experience with media marketing and internet advertising.
- Innovative, creative, and self-motivated.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities efficiently.
- Ability to accept and learn from constructive criticism.
- Willingness to work collaboratively for the good of the team

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
