**About the Job**

The Disability and Inclusion Manager at Shalom Austin will drive and nurture disability and inclusion initiatives across the organization. With dual responsibilities, the manager will provide personalized support to individuals and families with disabilities, collaborating closely with JFS clinical professionals. They will also spearhead efforts to enhance accessibility within Shalom Austin and the broader Jewish community, engaging stakeholders in program development. The Disability and Inclusion Manager will serve as a primary resource for disability needs, strengthen inclusion programming, guide volunteer opportunities, and facilitate focus groups to develop a comprehensive vision. Additionally, they will initiate groundwork for future initiatives, engage with donors, and cultivate partnerships with disability advocates and organizations.

You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:

- Work directly with clients and families with disabilities who seek services throughout Austin serving as an advocate and care manager.
- Working directly with adults with disabilities on life skills and vocational resources through social groups and one on one support.
- Lead the Disability and Inclusion Task Force and foster community collaborations and leadership through the task force.
- Oversee summer vocational training program and expand the program to include year-round opportunities for employment and training throughout SA and with partner organizations.
- Serve as primary resource for all disability and inclusion needs for clients and community members at JFS and Shalom Austin while training colleagues in learning how to create inclusive environments.
- Partner with various Shalom Austin program directors to strengthen and expand inclusion programming so that more children and adults with disabilities can successfully participate and program quality continues to increase. This will include offering trainings on inclusion to program staff.
- Provide Shalom Austin volunteer director with guidance in identifying volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities, while also developing volunteer opportunities to assist individuals with disabilities (ie: human guide volunteers, teaching assistants, etc.)
- Together with JFS ED, facilitate community focus groups on disability and inclusion initiatives and develop a vision for Shalom Austin, remaining focused on responding to the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Begin to build the foundation for future initiatives, including staffing, funding, identifying partners in Austin and lay leadership structure.
- Together with JFS ED, meet with donors and stake holders in the community to share our vision and inspire them to help us build financial capacity for the future of the program.
- Supervisory responsibilities: supervise volunteers, summer and year-round interns with the assistance of job coaches and in the future, coordinator and specialist roles.
- Learn about and partner with disability advocates and organizations in Austin to further develop and discern Shalom Austin’s role in this space.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience required. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to take initiative, inspire others with a vision and work well and collaboratively in a team environment.
